Arlene Hernandez was born in Van Nuys CA on September 11, 1945 and passed peacefully from this life on December 20, 2023 in her home in Hanford, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Margaret Banegas, her oldest son, Craig McCuistion and her youngest daughter, Rachelle Tomczek. She is survived by her two children, Cheryl Barnes of Santa Ana, CA and Nathan McCuistion of Iowa, her sisters, Georgina Garza (brother-n-law Lupe/Joe) and Roberta Monzelli (brother-n-law Ron). She is also survived by five grandchildren, Andrew Barnes, Jonathan McCuistion, Nathan McCuistion Jr, Justin Lira & Tori Brazeal and four great grandchildren. She also was a proud Aunt to nieces, Margaret Guzman & Alexandra Monzelli and nephew Gabriel Garza as well as Great Aunt to Alyssa & Ariana Guzman and Samara & Sariah Garza.
Arlene was an incredibly strong woman raising her four children as a single mother. She worked most of her life as a licensed Hairdresser and held a second seasonal job at Contadina Foods where she retired in 2006.
The family wishes to give a special "thank you" to her caregivers, Susan Jaramillo and Sylvia Martinez.
In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated. Church services will be held on January 13, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Saviour at 519 N Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 and laid to rest at the columbarium immediately following services, also at the church site with a dinner immediately following at the church hall. The family asks that a donation be given to the Episcopal Church of the Saviour in lieu of flowers in the name of Arlene Hernandez as she held her church family very dear to her heart.
