Carol S. Ward, formerly Ross, of Hanford, California took her final breath and went Home to be with the Lord while surrounded by loved ones on September 11, 2019 at 11:20 p.m. at the age of 69 in Fresno, California after recently being diagnosed with Adenocarcinoma and Cirrhosis. Carol was the oldest of two (2) daughters of Carl and Billie (Wright) Ross. Carol was an amazingly dedicated mother and grandmother. She was always quick to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, or a shoulder to cry on; she completely dedicated her life to helping others. Her family and close friends would describe Carol as being the most selfless, outspoken, and considerate person they had the blessing of meeting.
Carol was born on June 10, 1950 in Willits, California. As a child, family members would describe Carol as a "spit fire". She knew what she wanted and what was right and she wasn't afraid to let you know. Carol later graduated from Riverdale High School in 1968. Carol then attended beauty college before marrying.
Family meant everything to Carol and she lived for hers. In 1971 Carol became a mother when she gave birth to her oldest child; a son. She then gave birth to her daughter in 1975. Carol was a great homemaker and mother, later helping to raise her grandchildren. Carol became a grandmother in 1992 when her first granddaughter was born followed by her second granddaughter in 1995 and her third in 2001.
Carol truly had a caring and giving nature that was felt immensely by those close to her. In her early adult years, she enjoyed watching her children grow up, teaching Sunday school, and spending time outdoors. Later in life Carol enjoyed traveling with family and close friends to places such as Lake Tahoe, Disney Land, and the beach, playing bingo, crocheting, attending the Caruthers’s Fair and having family gatherings. Before her passing, she still loved spending time with her family and playing bingo, she also became fond of reading, keeping in touch with loved ones on social media, and shopping. Carol always made certain that those around her knew they were loved and taken care of, even if that meant doing something as simple for them as gifting them a pair a warm, fuzzy socks. Carol really enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.
Carol is survived by her two (2) children, Randall Ward, Jr. and Christie Ward; her sister, Cynthia Sanchez; and her grandchildren, Jessica Ward, Brittany Ward and Arrianna Ward. She was loved by many and will be missed by all; her family is truly blessed to have had an abundance of memories with her to cherish.
Her family is comforted with the fact that Carol was a faithful servant of God and had a close relationship with the Lord. They know that she is now at peace and no longer suffering. She would have wanted anyone morning her passing to remember the poem "Going Home" her mother, Billie, wrote:
“Don't weep for me when I am gone, when Jesus calls me to that land beyond, for He will see that I am safe, and meet me inside the pearly gates.
When trumpets sound and time’s no more, we'll be beside that golden shore, when angels sing and life’s complete and we shall kneel at Jesus' feet.
Oh what a day that will be, when Jesus takes us home to see our loved ones that have gone before, who wait beside the golden shore.”
