My mother grew up on hard work as a child and into adult hood where then she met her husband Clayton Fredrick. In 1972, my mother had her first child, William Nathaniel Fredrick, who sadly was a stillborn. My mother then was told she probably would never be able to have kids; her and Clayton were sadden by this very much. My mother was meant to be a mom so she took in her nephew and niece she raised them as her own.
Once again sadness came for my mother. In 1984 her husband, Clayton Fredrick, passed away at the age of 39; for my mother at the age of 35 she didn't really know what to do with herself. But a few years later in later in 1987, she met my father, Francisco Hurtado, who brought some happiness back to her life. A few months later my mother found out in April of 1988 that she was pregnant with me, Rosa Maria Hurtado. She was shocked and could not believe it, but was so, so happy her wish of having children came true. Then about 2 years later she had her 3rd child, Rafael Guadalupe Hurtado.
We grew up with my mom being a house wife stay at home, but mom ended up going back to school to get her CNA license while maintaining a home. My grandmother who lived with us started to get sick and my mother took on the responsibility, not only to take care of her children and husband, but to then also take care of her mother who needed 24 hour care. Sadly in 2001 my grandmother passed away and my mother did her best with us.
In 2004 when I had my first child, Victoria Dortheymae Hernandez, on my grandmothers birthday, October 29th my mother was really happy. But don't get her wrong, she said to me all the time "you have them, you keep them" that was just her way of saying she loved me. But when I had my second child, Suzanna Leticia Hernandez, at 6 months old my mother started to raise her and gave my mom life once again. In 2007 I had Selena Lucianna Hernandez, and in 2009 I had Nevaeh Unique Hernandez.
In 2009, I met Edward Allen Loftis, who became her son-in-law and his 2 children Janele Mona Loftis and Isaiah Petyer Loftis became her grandchildren. In 2010 I had my 5th child, Alicia Corazon Loftis, my mom said to me "that's it." In 2019 I had my son, Khalid Richard Loftis, whom she adored, he became her "little dinosaur."
Throughout the years, my mother has been through a lot of up's and down's. In the last year, my mother's health was on a decline. We thought she would get better in time, but sadly for us, she did not. I tried my best to help her to help herself get better, but she was just tired, she was ready and she knew it was her time to go home so she could finally be at peace.
On September 18, 2020, she went home. She leaves behind a partner of 32 years, a son and daughter, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Jeremiah Teddy Perez and on September 28th her second great grandson was born, Jedadiah Claudio-Allen Perez.
We will forever miss you. Rest in peace mom, love you.
