George went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2012. He was born on July 9, 1923 in Youngstown, Ohio. His grandson, Paul Koutsoubos said it best, “A true soldier of God went home today. I always felt like I was in the presence of greatness just being in the same room with my grandfather”.
George is survived by his 15 children; 3 biological and 12 adopted. He has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He attended Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri, after which George became an ordained pastor. He pastured in Mariposa for 8-10 years then in Oakhurst for another 4-5 years. In the early 70’s he moved to Mexico and ran an orphanage for the next 20 plus years. George lived his life serving our Lord and giving all he had to everyone around him. His favorite saying when things got hard was “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition”. He will be so truly missed by all his family and all who knew him. Heaven has gained a great man and earth a huge void.
A Private Family Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
Family and friends may visit www.peoplesfuneralchapel.com to view George’s legacy and send the family both written and audio messages.
Services are under the direction of People’s Funeral Chapel.
