

At a fairly young age Gloria began actively participating in her church choir and musical programs and continued this through her retirement. Gloria’s faith and belief in Jesus Christ was an important part of her life. Gloria graduated from Pacifica High School, Garden Grove, California in 1973, where she actively participated in choir and musical productions. Gloria had a strong interest in photography. She later took art classes with her mother and developed skill in oil and other painting media. She continued this interest in painting throughout her life. She worked at many interesting jobs including the Knott’s Berry Farm Picture Gallery where she met the love of her life, Steven Carpentieri, in 1974. A year later they were married and this year, celebrated 47 years of marriage. Later, Gloria worked for the Sheriff’s Department as a dispatcher and records clerk for nearly 10 years. She worked for the Department of Corrections as an Accountant at Corcoran Prison then later at the Regional Accounting Office in Corcoran, California; entering into retirement in 2017. After retirement she started a hobby of nurturing succulents. Over the years, she kept active on social media and stayed connected to extended family as well as friends she had met throughout her life.
Gloria was preceded in death by her father Edward Galik and her mother Margie Mae Burk.
Gloria is survived by her 2 cats, Thelma & Louise; her spouse, Steven Carpentieri; her son, Ryan (Tiffany); and her daughter, Stephanie (Gabriel). She is also survived by 3 wonderful grandchildren, Mellissa, Ryan W., and Adiye; Siblings: Kevin, Sandy (Jim), Lori (Merced), Lee (Stephanie), Michael (Marlene); her Aunt June and many family members and friends.
