Hazel Dorothy Furman Edwards

Hazel was born on October 13, 1921 and went to be with the Lord on August 18, 2012 at Kings Nursing and Rehab. She was 90 years old. Hazel was born about seven miles south of Hanford. She went to Eucalyptus School and graduated from Hanford High School in 1941. Hazel lived in Guernsey Lakeside area most of her life. She married her husband, Roy Edwards on February 19, 1942. She worked at the Lakeside School for many years with Roy. She was involved in many schools activities; 4-H, PTA and field trips. Hazel and Roy loved spending time with friends and family, camping or at the coast sharing stories around the camp fire of who caught The Big One. In her later years she loved to quilt and was an avid walker who loved taking her dogs for a walk. You could always find Hazel and Roy at McDonalds at 7AM sharp for coffee and visit with a group of friends that gathered there every morning.

Hazel is preceded in death by her loving husband; Roy Edwards of 61 years. Her parents; Fred & Ethel Furman and two brothers; Earl & Earnest Furman. She is survived by a daughter; Cheryl (Rick) Pietrzyk of Hanford and a son; Ross (Sandy) Edwards of Snoqualmie Falls, WA. Her grandchildren will miss her dearly; Richard Pietrzyk, Deborah Wilson both of Hanford, Traci (Chuck) Williams of Snoqualmie Falls, WA, Jeff (Jeanne) Hitchman and Jason (Stephanie) Hitchman both of Hanford. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren; Heather & Jeffrey Wilson , Ricardo & Zachary Zazueta all of Hanford, Elysse Williams of Snoqualmie Falls, WA, Brittney Hitchman of San Diego, Bristol Hitchman of US Marines Florida, Colt, Daytona & Tabatha Hitchman of Hanford. Hazel leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N.
