

Ignacio “Don Nacho” Ramirez G., was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July, 15 2014 at the age of 66. He was born and raised in La Union de Guadalupe, Michoacán, Mexico. In 1988, he moved to Lemoore, CA and began working for Rowan & Co. and later moved to Hanford, CA where he resided for 21 years. Ignacio worked for 35 years as a farm worker at many farms in Kings and Tulare County before starting his own business ‘Don Nacho’s catering’. Many knew him as “Don Nacho” or “The tamale man” because of his delicious tamales which were a staple of many Kings County homes during the holidays. Ignacio was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He worked his entire life to give his family the “American dream”. We were blessed to have him and he will be dearly missed by his entire family.
He is survived by: his wife; Maria Ramirez. 3 sons; Ignacio Ramirez Jr., Juan Ramirez and Arturo Ramirez. 4 daughters; Laura Paramo, Judith Porta, Erika Ibarra and Teresa Martinez. 20 grandchildren and 1 great- granddaughter, all of Hanford CA. He is also survived by 2 brothers; Manuel and Enrique Ramirez of Hanford and 3 sisters; Refugio Ramirez of San Joaquin, CA, Ana Maria Ramirez of Fresno, CA and Maria Luisa Ramirez of Armona, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Antonio and Emilia Ramirez, 4 siblings; Juanita Ramirez, Teresa Ramirez, Angelina Ramirez and Antonio Ramirez and his granddaughter, Itzayana Chaidez.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. all at People’s Funeral Chapel; 501 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 559-584-5591. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Catholic Church; 1000 N. Douty Street, Hanford, CA 93230 with Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery; 11680 S. 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230.
