

Randy Flowers of Hanford passed away Sunday April 26, 2015 at the age of 66 following a two year battle with cancer. He was born in Selma California on December 9, 1948, where he grew up and graduated from Selma High School with the class of 1967. He then went to Reedley College and graduated from Fresno State College in 1972 with a BS in Micro-Biology and Chemistry.
Randy was a Clinical Scientist with Tulare District Hospital. Earlier in his career he held similar positions at Hanford Community Medical Center and Hanford Clinical Laboratory. He was well known for his analytical skills.
Randy’s first wife was Sharon Walls who passed away in 1995. They had one daughter Michelle Guelce. Randy and Sharon had three grandchildren, Ian Paul, Sebastian and Renee.
Randy married his current wife, Janet Ross in 1996. He leaves behind his step children Mark Ross, Brian Ross and Audrey Bunyard all of whom he was quite fond. Also left behind are their grandchildren, Joseph, David, Noah, Tyler, Darren and Haley Ross as well as Ashlee and Jeffery Bunyard. He also leaves behind his father and best friend Gene Flowers from Sanger. His mother Wilma passed away in 2011.
Randy was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed the great outdoors whether camping, fishing, or especially, hunting. Randy successfully hunted most North American big game species beginning at age 12. His last hunt was this fall in New Mexico with his dad. He was successful even though he was very ill at the time. Randy was a widely recognized authority on firearms and ammunition reloading. He also was a well-known competitor in NRA and IHMSA Long Range Pistol Silhouette. The sport will be diminished by his absence.
Internment services will be private. A memorial service is planned for a later date.
