

Jane Walker McCutcheon, 94 of Hanford, California passed away on Wednesday, July 20, 2011 in Hanford, California. She was a homemaker and is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother by her family.
Jane was born in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1917 to Homer and Ethel Walker. She was raised and educated in Butler, Pennsylvania and graduated from Morgantown High School in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1934. Jane received her Associate of Arts Degree in Business from Duffs and Iron City College in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1935 and worked as an Executive Secretary. In 1945 she met Mac McCutcheon while he was serving in the United States Navy and they married shortly after in New York. Following their marriage, Mac returned to California and shortly after Jane followed to make their home in Davis, California. Following his discharge from the military Jane worked to help Mac complete his education and then moved to Hanford, California in 1947 to make their home and raise their children. During the war, Jane volunteered at the Walter Reed hospital and volunteered countless hours with the Ladies Auxiliary at Hanford Community Hospital where she served two terms as president. She served as Treasurer for the Hanford Senior Center and Treasurer and Trustee for the United Methodist Church of Hanford. Jane traveled extensively and especially enjoyed cruising. Her hobbies included knitting, working in her yard and oil painting.
Jane and Mac were preceded in death by their daughter, Gloria in 1969 and Mac preceded Jane in death in 1982
Jane leaves to cherish her memory, her son Barry McCutcheon and wife, Brenda of Hanford, CA; three grandchildren, Nancy Palomino and husband, Michael, Brian McCutcheon and wife, Katie and Matthew McCutcheon and wife, Amy; five grandchildren, Raine, Colten, and Kaia Palomino, Ava McCutcheon and Kaylin McCutcheon and one on the way.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 25, 2011 from 4 – 7 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street in Hanford, CA. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 10 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA. Burial will follow at Grangeville Cemetery in Armona, CA.
