John Robert Hemby was born on June 19, 1924. John, a US Navy veteran, served in WWII and
the Korean War. He earned his engineering degree and worked for several companies
throughout the years, including NASA.
John's hobbies included fishing, model trains, and reading. He especially enjoyed reading
historical pieces.
John is survived by his wife, Murrel N. Hemby of Hanford; a son, Robert Hemby and wife Deb
of Georgia; stepdaughter, Penny N. Kirksey and husband John of Tupelo, MS; stepson, Edward
Nichols and wife Tammy of Hanford; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by his sister, Jane and his son, Michael.
No services will be held at the family’s request.
