Josephine was born August 16, 1935 in Hanford to Rito and Antonia (Briano) Alcoser. Josephine lived her younger years growing up on the Charles Swanson Ranch and was always eager to tell her stories of the troubles her and her sisters would get into.
Josephine's mother died while she was still young and her dad later married Elena Alcoser, her second mom. Josephine had many interest which included gardening, camping, painting, and traveling with her husband of 40 years, Lot Bairstow. Josephine took a short break from the farm work and went to work for Safeway Creamery before retiring and joining Lot on the walnut farm where they worked together during harvest time and worked her yard which she was very fond of. She really had a knack for gardening and her pristine yard always showed it.
