J.W. Smith

JW “Sonny” Smith of Hanford died October 8, 2014 at home. He was 74. He was born January 5, 1940, to Loy and Lillie Mae Smith in Dustin, OK. In 1958, he married, had three children and divorced in 1971. In August 1972, in Denver, CO, he married the love of his life Barbara. JW “Sonny” was the Owner/Operator of JW Smith Trucking.

He was preceded in death by his parents Loy in 1983, Lillie Mae in 2001 also his daughter Catherine Smith in 2010, his sister Jean Kincade in 2004 and his brother Lonnie Smith in 2007. He is survived by two daughters, Norene Kennedy and her children Samantha and Colt Iseminger and daughter Violet, Ray and Veronica and her son William of Grand Forks, ND, Jeannette Hanes and husband Ed and daughter Tia of Lemoore, CA; Son-in-law Tim Smith and son Sam of Sanger, CA; Sisters Georgia Smith of Selma, Ruth Kincade and her husband Clyde Jr. of Selma, CA. Many dearly loved nieces, nephews and countless beloved friends.

On Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel a Memorial Service will be held in his honor.
