Kimberly was a young, beautiful, smart soul. She had such a noble heart and would put others necessities above hers for her family. Kim lived her life to the fullest; full of love, and full of courage. Kimberly never gave up on her dreams and she always fought for, and chased after, what she wanted. She had a passion for sports and school. Kimberly participated in wrestling, cross-country, lacrosse and track and even inspired others to pursue their dreams, including her brother Alan. Kimberly was an honor roll student and went on to graduate in honors and started college soon after graduating.
Kimberly was diagnosed with myoclonic epilepsy at the age of 16, which was really hard on not only her, but her family as well. Kimberly's family did everything they could to fight for her health. Soon after she was diagnosed, her epilepsy rapidly deteriorated her health and body and she got to the point where she could not depend on herself and had 24-hour caretakers. For these past 2 years she couldn’t walk or feed herself and these last two weeks were especially hard on her. She was admitted in the hospital with pneumonia and was intubated; it was so hard on her she could not even talk at this point. She was such a warrior, she fought so hard for her life, but in the end, we knew it was time for her to let go and finally be at peace. Kimberly went through a lot of suffering but fought every step of the way.
Kimberly leaves behind a loving mother, Maria D. Castellon and 2 loving siblings, Lynette Estrada & Alan Estrada and many more supporting family members.
