Leslie Jean Brixey

Leslie Jean Brixey passed away on August 10, 2022 in Lemoore, California at the age of 76. Leslie was born April 1, 1046 to Burton Frederick Cooper and Margaret Bernice McMichael in Alameda, California. Leslie’s father was in the Navy so she traveled and lived around the world and the United States. Leslie graduated from Lemoore Union High School in 1964. She married Edward Brixey in 1967 and raised three (3) children, Leeann, Melissa, and Christopher, in the Hanford/Armona area.

Leslie went through Cosmotology School and worked as a beautician before changing careers in 1970 to work for Kings County Department of Welfare. Leslie started working for Armona Elementary School, in the front office, in 1976. She was a well-known face in the front office for 15 years. After going back to school, she started working in the medical field doing medical billing, bookkeeping, and office management from 1993 to 2018. In this field, she worked for several offices, including Dutra Chiropractic in Lemoore as the office manager. As if she was not busy enough, she also had her own successful business L & M Billing and Bookkeeping with her daughter, Melissa, for 12 years.

Leslie was always involved with activities in her community. Kings Kennel Club, Armona Little League, Armona 4-H Parent Advisor, Hanford Soccer League Volunteer, Hanford High School FFA Parent Volunteer, Hanford High School Cheerleading Parent Volunteer. During these times and endeavors, she made many acquaintances and lasting friendships with her outgoing personality.

Leslie is survived by her mother, Margaret Riggs; her brother, Fred Cooper, of Fresno, and his wife Denise Cooper; and her children, Leeann Paden, of Hanford, and her husband Monte Paden; Melissa Lucio, of San Luis Obispo, and her husband Oscar Lucio; Christopher Brixey, of Reno, and his wife Anna Brixey. She is also survived by seven (7) grandchildren, Tyler Brixey with his wife Nikita Brixey, Taylor Martinez with her husband Andrew Martinez, Margaret Thompson with her husband Jarret Thompson, Connor Paden, Anikha Paden, Zechariah Paden, and Micah Paden, as well as five (5) great-grandchildren: Evelyn, Londyn, Marcus, Bodhi, and Natalie.

Funeral Date: Friday, September 23, 2022.
