

Margaret Ellen Krum Pame Battles passed away peacefully in the presence of family members at the age of 64 on April 21, 2014, from colon cancer. She is survived by siblings Bonnie Whitehead, Raymond Krum Jr. both of Hanford, CA, and Jocelyn Buckner of Sedona, AZ; husband Damon Battles, daughters Jodi Beth Goetsch (and husband, Todd) of Templeton, CA, Corri Abendroth (and husband Drake) of Elk Grove, CA, Raena McDougall (and husband Shawn) of Lompoc, CA, and son Brenton C. Pame of Hanford CA. She leaves behind grandchildren Shauna Lindow, Erin Abendroth, Aspen and Isa McDougall, and step-grandchildren Gina, Chelsea, and Nikolis Goetsch. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Sr. and Dorothy Wheeler Krum, and nephew Dwayne Whitehead.Margaret was born October 6, 1949 in Astoria, OR, and moved to Hanford, CA in 1961.
She attended Hanford High School and graduated in 1968. Margaret married Jesse C Pame in 1968, and enjoyed the life of a Navy wife making her home in many places including Lemoore, CA, Guam, Seal Beach, CA, Adak, AK, Oahu, HI, and San Diego, CA. She separated from Jesse and they were divorced in 1989. In 1997 she married Damon C Battles. Margaret was very artistic and creative and always had a project in the works. She enjoyed music, quilting, crocheting, cross stitch and reading. Margaret loved animals as much as people and raised dogs, goats, and birds. Riding her horse gave Margaret much joy. She retired from the NAS Lemoore Exchange in 2009. She was a long-time member of the Hanford Mormon church.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2400 N 11th Avenue, in Hanford. Viewing will take place from 9:30 to 10:15 in the Relief Society Room and services will begin at 10:30. Margaret will be interned at the Grangeville Cemetery on 14th Avenue in Armona, CA.
