Olive Sinclair Farwell Wilson

Olive Sinclair Wilson, 82, of Hanford, California departed this life on Friday, June 18, 2010 in Hanford, California, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 25, 1927 to Richard and Helen Farwell in Detroit, Michigan, where she was raised and educated. On February 6, 1948 she married Frank R. Wilson in Detroit and to this union was born four daughters, Linda, Marie, Dianne and Debby. Frank and Olive moved to Hanford, California in 1979 to make their home. She was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for over 60 years. Olive was a devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed sewing her daughters clothing, their doll clothes, canning and preparing food for her family and cooking. Her two specialties were her famous cobblers and carousel cakes. Olive enjoyed playing cards and her favorite game was 500 Rummy. She spent ten years helping care for her sister-in-law, Joyce Killian in Tennessee. Olive was a very caring person with a sweet spirit and appreciated the good things in her life. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Helen and by her loving husband,

Olive leaves to cherish her memory, four daughters, Linda Wilson, Marie Wilson and Debby Rickey and husband, Jim, all of Hanford, CA and Dianne Bourne and husband, Brad of Webberville, MI; four grandchildren, Sheryl Lardie and husband, Eric, Dana McArthur and husband, Donald, Martin Bourne and wife, Alysa and Kristina Murphy and husband, Phillip; and three great grandsons, Dylan Murphy, Jaryn Murphy and Luke Wilson Lardie as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at People’s Funeral Chapel, 501 N. Douty Street in Hanford, California on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 4 – 8 p.m. Services will be held on Friday, June 25, 2010 at 1 p.m. at People’s Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at the Hanford District Cemetery.
