

Patricia Jayne Rea (Patty), age 58, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26th, at Community Regional Medical Center from complications secondary to metastatic cancer. She was born on May, 23rd, 1966 in Hemet, CA to Darrel Hyde and Barbara Porterfield. She attended Delta View Elementary School and Hanford High School. She married Donald Rea Jr. in 1981. She is survived by her children Daniel Rea (Ema), Tanner Rea, Candace Lyn Rea-Rodrigues (Steven), and Haley Highfill (Jake), grandchildren Julian Flores, Emarie Ochoa, Kristen Rodrigues, Jacob Rocha, Payten Rea, and Haylyn Rea. She is also survived by her sisters Debra Slater (Dennis), Robyn Chandler (Jim), her brother Steven Hyde, her father in law Donald Rea, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Darrel Hyde and Barbara Porterfield, father of her children Donald Irvin Rea Jr, sister Vicki Talbert and mother in law Lyn Rea.
Most of her career was spent in secretarial or bookkeeping positions in the agriculture industry. The last eight years of her career she spent working as a bookkeeper for Haynes and Son’s Well Drilling, LLC. She was passionate about her work and was a dedicated employee.
Patty also loved spending time at the beach, crafting, and singing karaoke. She especially enjoyed quality time with her children, taking trips, and making memories during the holidays. She was a vibrant and unforgettable individual whose humor, strength, and generosity touched the lives of everyone she met. Known for her quick wit and straightforward nature, she had an innate ability to bring laughter and joy to any situation, always speaking with honesty and heart. Outgoing and compassionate, Patty was the first to offer a helping hand or a listening ear, and her kindness knew no bounds. Life wasn’t always easy, but Patty faced every challenge with unshakable resilience and a determination that inspired all who knew her. Her strength, coupled with an unwavering commitment to living authentically, left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to cross her path. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Patty found peace and strength in her faith, having accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She believed wholeheartedly in the promise of eternal life, and we take comfort in knowing that she is now in heaven, resting in the presence of God. Her faith was a source of strength over the last few years and we are assured that she is finally at peace, surrounded by love and grace.
There will be a memorial service on Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at 10:00 AM at People’s Funeral Chapel in Hanford, CA.
