

Phyllis passed away peacefully with her family by her side. She is now united with her husband, Ervin Turek, in Heaven. They were married for 64 years until his passing in 2006. She was known for her love, caring and compassion for others. She is survived by her children: Rev. Leonard Turek and grandsons Adam (Michele) and Neal Turek, Dennis Turek and grandchildren Scott Turek and Marcie Tome, Deborah (Larry) Peichoto and grandsons Ryan and Kevin Peichoto, and Loretta King. She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Phyllis and Ervin moved to Hanford in 1953 and joined the Hanford First Baptist Church. She directed the choir, taught Sunday school and adult bible studies and held several positions on the Executive Board. She played the French horn at church and for the Hanford Symphony Orchestra for over 50 years. In 1959, she opened the Hanford Travel Service. After selling the business she became a secretary for the plant manager at Armstrong Rubber Co., Hanford.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, December 3rd at 10:30 am at the First Baptist Church; 9241 13-½ Avenue, Hanford, CA. The family would like to thank the First Baptist Church for their hospitality. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Baptist Church of Hanford.
