Robert Louis Marienau

Robert Louis Marienau (Bob), 81, was born June 18, 1935 in Nebraska. He went to be with the Lord on January 14, 2017, peacefully in his home in Hanford, Ca. He was a graduate of Kearney State and University of Nebraska. He was a lifelong follower and huge fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

Bob was an educator for 45 years. Of those 35 years were with the Central Union School District. He was the principal at Neutra School on NAS Lemoore for the better part of his career.

As a lifelong educator, he started his teaching career in Nebraska and following up at Neutra School. He was a role model and leader entering Neutra School into the National Blue Ribbon School Program and the California Distinguished School Program winning the award three times each. With the accomplishments of the teachers and administration he personally traveled throughout California and the United States looking for schools to qualify for the programs. As a principal he mentored many teachers and became a role model for many others.

Other accomplishments included: Past Exalted Ruler (80-81) for the Elks Lodge BPOE 1259, Ambassador of the FAST Credit Union, board member of the Education and Agriculture Together Foundation, a member of Mended Hearts Association with which he visited patients who had undergone heart surgery. He was also on the board of the preschool and a member of the Evangelical First Lutheran Church in Hanford.

He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife Lee of 59 years, his son Gary Marienau and daughter-in-law Kim Marienau; his daughter Suzanne Cardoza and son-in-law Michael Cardoza; his grandchildren Robert Marienau, Alex Cardoza and Krystal Kemery with husband Stephen Kemery and his great grandchildren Shane and Savannah Kemery.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 11am at People’s Funeral Chapel.
