Robert Bob Julian Munoz

13 avril 19463 juin 2016

Robert “Bob” Munoz died at 70 years old peacefully in his sleep at home in Hanford, CA on June 3, 2016. Born in Hanford, CA to Vincent and Bridget Munoz on April 13, 1946, Bob learned at a young age the value of hard work, perseverance and a kind heart. He met his wife Jessie Gonzales at a dance in Riverdale, CA in 1964, they married on August 6, 1966 and it marked the beginning for an incredible almost 50 year marriage. In 1966 Bob took a full-time job at Sears by day and a part-time job at a liquor store by night until he landed a job as a laborer/plumber at Lemoore Naval Air Station in 1968. In 1987, fate took Bob to a job at the California Dept. of Corrections, as a plumber/supervisor where he spent over 14 years until he retired in 2001. He was a motivated individual and started up a business, R & R backflow, testing and repair, where he worked hard to build a successful clientele until his body told him that enough was enough on April 22, 2016. Because of his kind heart and giving personality, Bob had friends, friends and more friends; Bob’s passions were his family, work and helping others. Bab was an active member of the Knights of Columbus for 23 years in addition to serving as a Grand Knight. Bob is survived by his wife Jessie, two sons Brad (Suzanne) Munoz, Robert (Margarita) Munoz, his grandchildren Dominic, Tamara, Savannah, Julianna, Karina, Jordyn and Christopher. His brother Richard (Kim) Munoz, sister Gloria Green and many, many family members. Bob was cared for tenderly and lovingly by his wife, family and friends in the last year of his life. Bob was a proud husband, father and grandfather; he was a selfless man who enjoyed working hard to provide for his family. He will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. There will be a visitation held on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 9:00-10:00 am; a Rosary at 10:00 am, with a Funeral Mass following at St. Brigid Catholic Church; 1000 N. Douty St., Hanford, CA followed by Burial at Hanford Cemetery; 10500 S. 10th Ave, Hanford, CA. I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of Robert Munoz. Robert and his family were close friends of ours when we lived in Hanford. He would always have a smile on his face and ready to help out in any way he could. I was honored when Bob & Jessie asked me to be their oldest son, Brads godmother. Bob and my ex husband Gerald was in the guards together and we socialized with them so often.
My sincere condolences are with his wife, Jessie and their sons, Brad and Robert and his entire family. We were all blessed to have known him and may God bless you and give you peace and strength in this time of need!

My sincere condolences to Bob's family and wide circle of friends. I had the pleasure of working with Bob as both a water purveyor, and fellow volunteer in the American Backflow Prevention Association (ABPA). Bob was a staunch advocate for safe drinking water through backflow prevention, eager to learn, and always willing to go the extra mile to help someone. His kindness and professionalism were an inspiration to those he worked with. He will be missed.

Robert had an etiquette that disliked interrupting people, very conscientious! He would spend more time saying 'sorry for bothering you, Chris' than he would for the reason he called. He knew the value of other people's time and would never want you to think he was taking advantage of it. It is like he was daily on a mission, focused sincerely on what he was getting done, without wasting his time or others. I loved it whenever he called, because I loved the cadence of his soft voice. A family who got to enjoy him is truly to be envied. He did recently come to meet the Lord Jesus through a kind relative. I know for Robert that that would be the highlight of his life! We will be re-united in the kingdom!

Dear Jessie and Family,
We have such great memories of all of you, we especially enjoyed joining you on the annual trip to the City of Hope Celebration for the children and families with your son and daughter in law. I was just remembering that the other day since it seems it was this time of year. May God Bless you all.

Coach Robert will definitely be missed but, rest assured he will always be remembered as a good man who positively impacted many young lives, and even had time for their parents and grandparents.

Jessie and family,

Bob was the most kind hearted man I've ever met. Little did I know that the last time I called for back flow service would be my last time to speak to him. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved and cared for him.
