Stanley Dwight Owens was born May 12, 1950, in Los Angeles and passed away June 16, 2016 in Hanford, California. He was the son of Eugene and Jewell Owens. When he was 15, his family moved to Exeter, California where he attended high school. At 19, he married his high school sweetheart, Virginia (Koko) Covey. They settled in Armona and raised a family of five.

He was a very generous person, and enjoyed helping others by fixing cars, moving furniture, or whatever else needed to be done. In his later years, he encouraged many people through his presence on social media. He was always ready to share a kind word of encouragement to others, even when his own health was failing
Stan was firm in his faith, and would share his beliefs with anyone who was interested, but he accepted people for who they are. People will remember him for his big heart, his honesty, his sense of humor, and his crooked grin. He is survived by his five children, Stacy Van Hoek (Eric), David Owens, Amy Larson (Larry), Michael Owens, and Robyn; three sisters, Norma Belflower, Denice Hernandez, and Bunny Mixter. He also leaves seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by Virginia, his wife and soul mate of 45 years, his parents, and sisters Linda and Carole.
