Ze Yang's Life Story
Ze Yang, the youngest son of Joua Lue Yang and Bla Vang Yang, was born on June 15, 1952 in Phu Ma Town, Xieng Khouang Province, Laos. Ze Yang has one older brother, Yang Chong Yang and one older sister, Chang Mee Yang.
Ze Yang is survived by his wife, Seng Khang Yang; his three sons, Pao Fu Yang, Jerry Yang and Robert Yang; and his six daughters, May Yang, Natalie Yang, Pang Kou Yang, Lisa Yang, Linda Yang and Nancy Yang and 20 grandchildren.
Ze Yang served in the Special Guerrilla Unit (SGU) from May 9, 1968 to May 14, 1975, a guerrilla troop trained by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during the "Secret War" in Laos, under the command of General Vang Pao in Military Region 2. He received Team Military Training in Thailand and served as a Drill Sergeant (Khufwv) at the CIA Headquarters in Long Cheng, Laos. He later fought under the command of Colonel Mua Sue in Battalion 106, Groupement Mobile (GM) 24, in which he fought and survived the battle of Bouam Long Camp (LS32). Toward the end of the war, he transferred into Artillery Group #431 and served as a Second Lieutenant to Major Teng Yang and Colonel Tou Long Yang. After the war, fleeing Laos and seeking political asylum in the United States, Ze Yang and his family arrived in San Diego, California on September 20, 1976, where he was employed as a sewing machine operator for the manufacturing of hot air balloons and giant inflatable cans & bottles. He later moved his family to Hanford, California in the fall of 1990. Ze Yang sadly passed away in Hanford, California on May 29, 2014, due to natural causes.
