

David Francis Sullivan, 57 of Norwood passed away peacefully at home on February 2. Born to Francis and Gertrude Walsh Sullivan, he was one of six children. David grew up in Sharon and graduated from Xaverian Brothers High School and the University of New Hampshire and received an MBA at Western New England College. David started his career at SofTech Inc. in Waltham were he met his wife, Carol Gray. They resided in Duxbury for 25 years where they enjoyed raising their children and where David was an executive with Battelle Memorial Lab. He traveled extensively throughout the US, Europe and the Middle East with his work. He gave freely of his time to the community and served on the Finance and Fiscal Advisory Committees for the Town of Duxbury. David's quick wit, sense of humor and gift for story telling endeared him to family, colleagues and many friends. As captain of "El Nino", he enjoyed boating and fishing in Duxbury Bay. Diving for lobsters was a favored past-time in summer months while skiing with family in Vermont was a treasured winter tradition. David is survived by his wife, Carol of Marshfield, his loving children Kate and her husband Richard DeLanders of West Roxbury and Benjamin of Brighton. He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Sullivan of Walpole and his siblings Marion Sullivan and her husband Greg of Norwood, Claire and her husband Joe Sibilia of Hampden, Mark Sullivan and his wife Telma of Walpole, Ann and her husband Doug Stockbridge of Kennebunk, ME and Jean and her husband Al Easterday of Concord. He also is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and friend Katherine Gallagher. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in Hanover on Friday from 4-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10AM in Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont St., Rte 3A, Duxbury. Interment in Mayflower Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory may be made to the Cardinal Cushing Center, 405 Washington St., Hanover, MA 02339.
