Donald Andrew Baker

Donald “Donnie” A. Baker of Hanson, passed away on April 6, 2023, in the home that he built after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 79 years old. Born in Revere on June 18, 1943, he was the son of the late Donald and Florence (St. Croix) Baker.

Donnie was the loving husband of Claudette (Clarke) Baker of Hanson. Brother of Doris Baker-Fraher and her husband, Mike. The devoted father of Rick Nichols and his wife, Kim, Karen Lapham, Barbara Baker and her partner, Scott, and Donald Baker and his wife, Mikaela. Loving stepdad to Ed Humphries and his partner, Joliene, Jenna Pick and her husband, Eric, and Noelle Humphries. Grandfather of Kerri, Nichole, John, Matt, Krystal, Brittany, Eric, Makenna, Colin, and Aria, and great grandfather to Serina, Olivia, and Cadence. He also leaves behind his favorite furry friend, Miss Kitty.

Donnie was a devoted union laborer for 42 years, working out of Local 133 in Quincy. A jack of all trades and a skilled mechanic, he could fix anything and was always willing to help others. He had a quick wit and could make you laugh, never afraid to say what was on his mind. His was a life well-lived, and a reminder to make the most out of every day.

A memorial service will be held the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan Street, Corner Route 14&58, Hanson, on Saturday, April 22nd at 10:00AM with visitation to follow until 1:00PM. For those who wish to contribute to a charity in his memory, donations can be made to ZERO Prostate Cancer.
