Doris M. Montgomery Higgins

Mrs. Doris M. Montgomery Higgins, 97, of Rockland died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in the Neville Center at Fresh Pond in Cambridge. The daughter of the late Roy and Evelyn Geary Montgomery, she was born in Plymouth VT on November 13, 1909. She was raised and educated in Vermont and received a Bachelors Degree from Boston University and a Masters Degree in Education from Boston State College. Mrs. Higgins was a retired School Teacher for the town of Rockland and was a Substitute Home Teacher in Rockland for many years. Wife of the late John T. Higgins, she is survived by 2 grandchildren, John M. Higgins and his wife, Shirin of Cambridge and Susan E. Higgins of Cambridge and 3 grandchildren, Dylan P. Higgins, Fiona P. Higgins and Quentin P. Higgins. She was the mother of the late Atty. & Author, George V. Higgins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11 AM in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street in Rockland. Interment will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East water Street in ROCKLAND on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Higgins Family Scholarship Fund, c/o Rockland Trust Company, 288 Union Street, Rockland MA 02370.
