Edward J Smith

Edward J. Smith, 80, of South Boston died Sunday, November 17, 2002 in the Milton Hospital. The son of the late Elija and Lucy Mullen Smith, he was born in Tewksbury on March 26, 1922. He was raised and educated in the Back Bay. He lived in Westfield NJ before moving to South Boston 10 years ago. He was formerly employed as a Social Worker at the Dennison House in Dorchester and was employed for many years as a Social Worker at the Westfield NJ Community Center. Mr. Smith served in the Army during WWII and was a Member of the National Association of Social Workers and a Member of the AARP. He is survived by 1 brother, John F. LaPan of Holbrook a brother in law, Chester J. Murawski of Rockland and 1 nephew, Edward J. Robinson of Wareham. He was the brother of the late Mollie Murawski formerly of Rockland who died November 9, 2002. The Funeral Service will be on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 11 AM in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 41-45 East Water Street in Rockland. The Rev. Donald Remick will officiate. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Brighton. Visiting Hours will be on Wednesday from 4-7 PM.
