
Ellen Bernadette Young of Rockland and Green Harbor, passed away at the Good Samaritan Hospital on Friday, September 9, 2016 after a short illness. Miss Young, who was the daughter of the late Thomas K and Prudence C Young, was raised in Dorchester and attended Notre Dame Academy in Roxbury . She graduated from Mt. Alvernia Academy in Chestnut Hill. Before graduating from Boston College with a BS in Education she had studied at Cardinal Cushing College. Ellen taught at St. Mary’s School in Randolph and Sacred Heart Elementary School in Kingston. She taught CCD at Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Green Harbor and Holy Family in Rockland where she also served as school librarian. Ellen is survived by her twin brother, Thomas K. Young,Jr. of the home address, a sister Prudence and her husband James, and a brother, John C. Young, Sr.and his wife Carolyn all of Plymouth. She is also survived by three nieces Monica Goldfinger of Cambridge, Denise and her husband Charles Nilosek, and Kristin and her husband John Denietolis and two nephews John C. Young, Jr and his wife Stacie, and James Darigan, Jr. all of Plymouth. She is also survived by ten great nieces and nephews Julia Blustein and Jack Goldfinger, Madeline, Jacob and Christopher Nilosek, Molly and John C. Young, III, and Nora , John and Eliza Denietolis, Visiting hours will be at the family home, 221 Moncrief Rd, Rockland on Wednesday, September 14 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and Thursday September 15 any time after 11:00 AM. On September 16 there will be a prayer service at the family home at 8:30 AM followed by A funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 40 Canal St in Green Harbor at 10:30 AM.
