

Francis "Frank" Joseph Cahill, 90, a long time resident of Rockland, MA, died unexpectedly on Monday, January 22, 2018 after a well lived life. He was was born in Hartford, CT, the son of the late Harold and Agnes (Murphy) Cahill. His brother Joseph Cahill and sister Katherine (Cahill) McDonald predeceased him, and survived by his brother Richard Cahill and his dear brother-in-law, Richard McDonald.
He spent his early life growing up in Maine, Massachusetts, and Connecticut before enlisting in the US Navy in 1945. After his service to his country, he married and had a career in sales, most notably as a well known automobile salesman in his hometown. He was a long time communicant at Holy Family Church and an active member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Frank was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Louise (Baker) Cahill, to whom he was devoted. He is survived by his daughter Ellen Harris and her husband Jonathan, daughter Patricia Kelly and her husband Richard, son Daniel Cahill and his wife Dianna, son Michael Cahill and his wife Nancy, son John Cahill and his wife Nancy, daughter Carol Cahill, and son James Cahill. He was the loving grampa of 13 grandchildren, and great grampa of 11 great grandchildren. He was beloved by many nieces and nephews and cherished his relationships with them.
During his lifetime Frank quietly affected many lives, helping less fortunate people and supporting his children with unwavering love. Although he missed his beloved wife terribly after her passing, he was still a friendly face to many in their time of need, and will be sorely missed.
Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water St, Rockland, on Monday, January 29, 2018 from 4-7 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St, Rockland, on Tuesday at 9 AM. Burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
