Gary Francis Cook

Gary was born on September 27, 1989 and grew up in Hanson. He graduated from South Shore Vo Tech and went on to work for the MBTA as a train operator. Gary later went on to work for the Pembroke School Department’s facilities maintenance.

Gary was a loving individual who always would do his best to make people laugh. Gary would strive to become the best at whatever he worked on, developing a vast knowledge in a variety of topics.  Above all, Gary was dedicated to his friends and family, especially his two nieces. He would always be a call away for any situation one could find themselves in, no matter the cause. 

Gary was a loving son, and is survived by his parents,  Maria Cook of Pembroke and Michael Cook of Hanson. He was a brother of Michael Cook and Crystal Cook and shared those same bonds with Richard Salvucci, Chris Pratt, Felicia Avitabile and Rachael Mohan. He was a beloved Uncle “Buddy” of Bella Pennio and Alexiea Powers. Grandson of Lena and the late Luigi Avitabile. Gary also had a monumental impact on the lives of many others from all across the country with his vast connections and friendships he had made through his favorite hobby of online gaming.

Gary was loved dearly, and will be missed by many. He will be buried with the ashes of his late dog Blu, whom was his best friend for well over a decade. It was his wishes to have Blu by his side until the very end.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 28th from 9:00AM-10:30AM at Sullivan Funeral Home in Hanson - 2 Maquan St. (at the corner of Rte 14 & 58). A funeral mass will take place at 11:00AM at Holy Apostles Parish - St. Joseph the Worker in Hanson - 1 Maquan St. Burial will immediately follow at Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson.
