

George (Skip as he was known to family and friends) was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Hyde Park High School. In 1971 he married his beloved wife of 51 years Linda, and eventually settled in Pembroke and raised two sons. After spending time in the Army Reserves, George embarked on a long career as an entrepreneur. He owned Adams Sporting Goods Store in Dorchester and Pembroke and ultimately started his own Sales company in the metal fabrication field.
George loved sports and enjoyed coaching and watching his sons play hockey as they grew up. He played golf and loved the Bruins, Patriots, and Red Sox. He was an avid fisherman, keeping a boat in Cape Cod Bay for many years. He hosted the show Fishing New England on NESN in the 1980's and became a Charter Captain. He was a proud and active member of the Mass Striped Bass Association. He loved to entertain family and friends with his endless supply of fish stories. Later, he cherished being "Papa" to his grandsons.
George is survived by his loving wife Linda (Mccarthy) Doucette. Son Michael Doucette and wife Carolyn of Stoneham and their children Robbie, Cooper, Finn, and Boyd. Son James Doucette and his wife Amy of Rockland and children Dillon and Logan. Brother Paul Doucette and his wife Karen of Rockland. Sister Peggy Dubois and her husband Bob of Foxboro. Predeceased by sister Deanna Hannaford and her husband Bob. George is also survived by many Brother and Sister In-Laws, nieces and nephews, and friends.
A celebration of George's life will be held in 2023 with details to be shared by family at a later time.
