George “Duke” Richards Jr.

George "Duke" Richards Jr., 88 of Middleboro passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. The son of the late George and Annie (Anderson) Richards Sr, Duke was born in Stoneham on March 7, 1925. He proudly served in the Army during WW II and was discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He worked at AT&T for 36 years and retired as a manager. Duke was a noted boat builder and craftsman. He was the husband of Claire "Dolly" (Latorella) Richards, father of Deborah Robinson of Boston, David Bott and his wife Carole of Framingham, Dawn Marie Jenkins and her husband Thomas of Quincy, Stephanie Richards of NH, Leanne Berry of NH and Stephen Richards and his wife Paula of Rockland. Brother of the late Dorothy and Helen. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 2 Maquan St, at the corner of Rte 14 & 58 in HANSON on Monday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM in St. Joseph the Worker Church, 1 Maquan St, Rte 14 in Hanson. Burial with military Honors in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
