

Henry C. Stone was born March 29, 1929 to Henry and Helen Stone, and grew up in New Bedford, MA. As a young man, Henry served as a boatswains mate in the Navy on the Destroyer The USS Johnston. Stony as he is affectionately known, met his wife Mary while on leave from the Navy. His greatest loves were his family, and in his later years enjoyed watching his grandchildren and greatchildren grow. When his children were young he was active in the Rockland Boy Scout Organization. He served as a Special Police Officer for the Rockland and Abington Police Departments. He enjoyed working with others as a Certified Police Firearms Instructor and was an accomplished woodworker and handyman. He spent many hours in his workshop building furniture that his wife would paint and would then gift to their extended family. .
Henry is survived by his wife of 65 years Mary J. Stone and their children, Henry Stone, and his wife Barbara of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Kathleen Stone and her husband Pat of Middleboro MA., John Stone and his partner Janice Sullivan of Plymouth MA., Marybeth Kassner and her husband Stewart of Coral Springs, FL., Maureen Easton and her husband Jimi of Windsor Locks, CT and Lauralee Sheehan of Rockland, MA. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Funeral Service on Monday, Sept 10th at 10 AM. Burial at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at at later Day. Visitation omitted.
