James grew up in Roxbury the eldest of five children. He began working at a young age, holding down more than one job on many occasions. Jim was a quiet man, a proud man, a patient man, a loving man, a man that was committed to giving his family unconditional love and support. After retiring from the US Postal Service, he was a devoted daycare provider to his grandchildren. He had the biggest heart filled with love and compassion for all he knew, always putting others before himself. James will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Commonly heard to say that in his next life he wants to come back as the Tallest Redwood in the forest, he will always be remembered as a towering pillar of strength.
