

Joan T. Campbell. 74, of Canton and Englewood, FL died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Renaissance Gardens, Linden Ponds in Hingham after a brief illness. The daughter of the late Angelo and Nicolina Ciardi Ragusa, she was born in Boston on November 6, 1937. She was raised and educated in Hyde Park, raised her family in Stoughton and retired to Canton and Englewood FL. Joan had worked for the MBTA for over 20 years retiring as a Dispatcher in 2000. She loved dancing, playing mahjong with friends, cooking, entertaining and traveling. She was very active at the Canton Senior Center and was named Elk of the month, the first month she joined the Elks Club in Englewood. But what mattered most to her in life was her family and close friends. She was the loving mother of Richard Campbell of Brockton, Cathy Horton of Pembroke, John Campbell of Canton, Lynne Kelley of Norton and Lisa Petrillo of Marshfield, devoted grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, sister of John Ragusa of Plymouth and Paul Ragusa of Boston, and aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was the wife of Richard Campbell of FL and dear friend of Bob Bartlett of NH. The Family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Dana Farber, Brigham and Women's and Renaissance Gardens for their care and compassion. Visiting hours will be at the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Monday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 9 AM in St. Christine's Church, 1295 Main St., Rte 3A in Marshfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's memory may be made to the Bridge of Hope at Friends of the Brigham and Women's Hospital, 1620 Tremont St. OBC4-020A, Boston, MA 02115 or at www.friendsofbwh.org.
