Joan Antoinette Murray

Joan (Joanie) Antoinette Elizabeth Murray of Pembroke and Duxbury, beloved daughter of the late John Joseph Murray and Elizabeth Tierney Murray, who preceded her in death by several weeks. Joanie enjoyed music, Special Olympics, family gatherings, Mickey Mouse, going to Mass and saying the rosary. A member of the South Shore Community Voices, she always loved performing concerts for her family and friends. Joan’s smile would light up a room and she will be remembered for her love of her family and many friends. Joan was the loving sister of Eleanor of Duxbury, MA, John (Kathy) of Brentwood, TN, Elizabeth of Duxbury, MA, Mary (Bruce Smith) of Brentwood, TN, Edmond (Cristi) of Carmichael, CA, Thomas (Laurie Di Maria) of Duxbury, MA, and Joseph (Michele) of Braintree MA and her beloved cousins and nieces and nephews, who she called “her babies”: Katherine (William) Ratliff, John, Parker, Blaire, Megan, Kristen, Emily, Jessica, Joseph, Heather, and Julia. Joanie’s family would like to give special thanks to New England Village and especially the extraordinary Watson House Staff for their compassionate and loving care. Funeral Mass at Holy Family Church 601 Tremont St. Rte. 3A Duxbury, MA will be on Saturday September 10 at 10 AM followed by interment at St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Framingham.
