

John W. Lyons, 87 of Hanover formerly of Dorchester, passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2014. Born on May 28, 1927 in Boston, he was the son of the late Albert and Dolonia (MacDonald) Lyons. John was the General Manager of Bailey Press, Hub Offset, and NE Litho. John enjoyed bowling, darts, and crossword puzzles. He was a member of The Rockland Eagles and Pembroke Knights of Columbus. John proudly served our country in the Navy during WWII in the Philippines. John is survived by his wife Eloise (Coyne) Lyons and their children Maureen Lyons and her husband Arnold Turner of Weymouth, John Hugh Lyons of Dalton NH, Michael Lyons and his wife Dianne of Abington, William Lyons of Kingston, Cpt. Paul Lyons of the US Navy and his wife Kanako of VA, and the late Mary Louise Lyons. He is also survived by his brother Joseph and his wife Irene of Everett, sister-in-law Ann Lyons of Tewksbury, the late Robert, and the late Donald. John is survived by his 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington Street, HANOVER, on Thursday from 4-8PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 9AM at St Mary of the Sacred Heart, 392 Hanover Street, Hanover. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
