Louise Amoroso Sheehan

Mrs. Louise A Sheehan of Hanover entered into eternal rest at home, surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the age of 89. Beloved wife of the late Alfred A. Sheehan. She leaves her four devoted children, Marie Peterson of Norwell, Carol Anthony of Middleboro, Alfred Sheehan of Marshfield and Lois Sacco of Taunton, 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, her brother, Edwin Amoroso of Weymouth and many nieces and nephews. She was the daughter of the late Stefano and Josephine Merluzzo Amoroso, sister of the late Frank Amoroso, Filomena Elliott and great grandmother of the late Jessica Peterson. Louise was manager of the Wishing Well Yarn and Gift Shop of Norwell for 30 years. After retirement, she worked for Sahagian Jewelers until 2006. She traveled extensively with her many friends and as a member of the Bonnie Seniors of Plymouth. She was past Grand Venerable of the Weymouth Giuseppe Verdi Daughters of Italy Lodge and a member of the Norwell Chamber of Commerce. Many years ago, she organized the Sheehan/Amoroso Christmas in an effort to keep all her family close. While many have located throughout the country, everyone knew and planned to come home to share this holiday. Her joy was to see her extended family, of over 75 people join hands and have a few moments of the year where they shared love and prayers with her. She always gave thanks for her family and often shared poems she wrote asking everyone to treasure and love each other. Her gift to all was the bond she created bringing four generations together. She will be missed and always remembered, especially at Christmas. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home. 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Sunday from 1-5 PM. Funeral Mass on Monday at 9 AM in St. Helen Church, 383 Washington St., Rte 53 in Norwell. Interment in Hanover Center Cemetery.
