Michael H. Downing

Michael is survived by his devoted wife who he was so proud of for 31 years, Ramona (Lysakowski) Downing. Beloved son of Pauline M. (Shea) Downing of Rockland and the late Robert A. Downing, Sr., cherished father of Mitchell Downing of Rockland and Tania Long of AZ., dear brother of Lisa Chisholm and her husband William of Rockland and Robert Downing, Jr., and his wife Eileen of FL. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.

Michael joined the Navy and spent several years in the Naval Reserves out of South Weymouth immediately following graduation from Rockland High School in 1976. After leaving the Navy Michael enjoyed working at Boston Whaler and Verizon. Michael mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid sports fan.

Visit hours will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home, 45 East Water Street, Rockland on Tuesday, January 31st from 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1st in Holy Family Church, 403 Union Street, Rockland at 9am burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.
