Nancy Ann Callahan

Nancy Ann (Edwards) Callahan, of South Easton and formerly of Rockland, passed away in her sleep on July 17, 2023, at the age of 92. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Gladys (Dunwiddie) Edwards and dear sister and best friend of the late Janet Smith. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew F. Callahan.

Nancy and Andrew raised their six boys in Rockland. She was a lector at Holy Family Church for many years. Nancy was a Town of Rockland Employee for many years serving as the Town Clerk and also worked at the Board of Health. She volunteered with many organizations including the Red Cross, The American Legion, Rockland Polling and Elections, and the South Shore Hospital. Her sense of fair play, honesty, and integrity made her an asset in all these endeavors.

Nancy’s claim to fame was she took dancing lessons from Gene (Dancing In The Rain) Kelly. She loved to dance and found the perfect dance partner in her husband Andrew. They could be found spinning around the kitchen at 6 AM to the likes of Frank Sinatra on their AM radio. They were a remarkable couple!

Nancy was the loving mother of Michael and his wife Nancy, Kevin and his wife Patti, Terrence and his wife Carole, Barry, the late Andrew, Jr., and the late Patrick. She is the beloved grandmother of 10 and great grandmother of 10 glorious great grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 25th from 4pm-7pm at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St., Route 53, Hanover. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 26th at 9AM at Holy Family Church, 403 Union St, Rockland, burial to follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland.
