Robert "Bob" John Monti

Robert “Bob” John Monti, 84 of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2026.  Born on December 4, 1941, he spent his childhood in Quincy, Massachusetts.  Raised by his aunt and uncle, Mary and Arthur Casala, he enjoyed time spent with his large, extended family and many friends.  Upon completion of Quincy High School and after a few years of working, he enlisted in the United States Army. Bob served his country in the Vietnam War.

Upon his return from Vietnam, Bob turned his pleasant nature, natural charm, and sense of style into a career in sales. Mutual friends introduced him to Carol (Strauser) who would become his beloved wife. After their five years in Quincy, Bob and Carol purchased a home in Pembroke, Massachusetts where they welcomed their son David to the family. They have lived in Pembroke for 53 years.

Bob knew how to enjoy many of life’s pleasures including Italian, Irish, and oldies music, westerns and classic movies, baseball card collecting, Italian food, New England Patriots football, and building legos. He also enjoyed traveling with Carol to Italy, Ireland, Bermuda, the Grand Canyon, and many states. His smile, laugh, and witty comments will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved parents, Orlando and Alice (Serroni) Monti, brother Richard and his sisters Barbara, Nancy, Judy, Diane, and Peggy. Bob is survived by his sister Lorraine and his nieces and nephews. Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Carol of Pembroke, his son, David (Jill) of Abington, his grandchildren Tyler (Mel) of Plymouth, and Reese and Max of Abington, and his great grandson Dalton of Plymouth.

Visitation will be held at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 2 Maquan Street, Route 14&58, Hanson, on Monday, April 6th from 9:00 – 10:30 AM, followed by the Funeral Mass at 11:00 at St. Joseph the Worker, Route 14, Hanson, and burial at Pembroke Center Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s honor can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
