

Born in Rockland on January 18, 1929, Shirley was the beloved daughter of the late Lewis and Florence (Blaney) Wheeler. She was the youngest of ten children and grew up in Pembroke, where she formed the strong values of family and community that would guide her throughout her life.
Shirley dedicated many years of service as a teacher’s aide in the town of Hanover, where she was known for her kindness, patience, and care for the children she worked with.
She was the devoted wife of the late Warren Litchfield and a loving mother to Kevin Litchfield and his wife Gail of Hingham, and David Litchfield and his wife Laurie of Pembroke. Shirley was a proud and cherished grandmother to Jason and his wife Megan, Jennifer and her husband John, David Jr. and his fiancée Alyssa, Alissa and her husband Ryan, and Adam and his fianceé Megan. She was also a loving great-grandmother of three. She is further survived by her dear sister-in-law, Kitty Wheeler.
Shirley will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her gentle spirit, and the warmth she brought to those around her.
Visitation will be held at Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St. (Route 53), on Monday, May 11th at 9:30 a.m., followed by a funeral home service at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Center Cemetery in Hanover.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
