With deep sadness, we share the news of the untimely passing of William (Bill/Billy) Roust Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and skilled union carpenter. Bill left this world on February 27th at 74, leaving a void that will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
Originally from Southie, Bill and his growing family made Pembroke their home in the late '70s. As a proud union carpenter of Local 328, Bill's craftsmanship was not just a profession but a testament to his dedication and passion for creating enduring structures.
Bill is survived by his wife, Helen, and their children: Kelly Abdalla and son-in-law Salman of Pembroke, Colleen Weston of Marshfield, and Christopher Roust of Quincy. Tragically, his son William passed away before him, leaving an indelible mark on the family. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth (Dolly) and husband Peter Kennedy of Quincy, Janet Roust, and many nieces and nephews.
A cherished Papa to Julia and Grace Weston, Ryan Abdalla, Lucia, and Katrina Roust, Bill enjoyed sharing his love for sports, nature, fishing, hunting, gardening, and working on cars. His children and grandchildren were recipients of his wisdom, laughter, and the countless memories created within the embrace of his affections.
Bill's ability to fix anything and everything was legendary among family, friends, and neighbors. His support was boundless, accompanied by a blend of advice and good-natured sarcasm that endeared him to many.
Bill frequented the VFW clubs in Marshfield and Scituate, forming lasting friendships and sharing countless stories. His friendly nature and welcoming presence left a lasting mark on the community.
As we bid farewell to William Roust Jr., remember him for his skilled hands, unwavering work ethic, and the love, laughter, and enduring memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. May he find eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to thrive in the hearts of all touched by his presence.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 8th at Our Lady of the Angels Parish - St. Mary's, 392 Hanover St, Rte. 139, Hanover, at 9 AM. Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Pembroke.
