Esequiel Cardenas

Esequiel Cardenas passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Memorial Day, May 28, 2012 at 89. Mr. Cardenas is preceded in death by his wife Eufemia R. Cardenas, his son Jose Andres Cardenas, his daughter Martha C. Garcia, parents Felipe and Josefa Cardenas Sr., brothers Miguel, Alberto, Israel, and Rodolfo. Surviving family members include daughter Velma C. Reyes (Jose), son-in-law Alfredo Garcia, Sr., Grandchildren Alfredo Garcia Jr. (Sabina), Andrea Garcia (Lenny Trevino), Claudia & Clarissa Reyes, great-granddaughter Autumn Trevino. Brothers and sisters include Felipe Jr., Eufemia Olivarez, Ester Cisneros, Lupe Lerma. Pallbearers include Alfredo Garcia, Sr., Alfredo Garcia, Jr., Jose Reyes, Frank Cruz, Carlos Verduzco, Ismael Trevino. Honorary Pallbearer Manuel Leal (Cousin). Friends and family will remember him as a loving husband, a caring father/grandfather.

Born in Santa Rosa and a World War II veteran (U.S. Army), Esequiel, self-employed for many years, retired from HCISD as a bus driver.

Visitation services will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Chapel on Thursday, May 31st. at 8:00 – 9:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Harlingen, TX. Interment will be at Restlawn Memorial Park in La Feria, Texas.
