

Mr. David Sherman Richardson, 73, of Hamptonville and formerly of Greensboro, died November 14th at High Point Regional Medical Center. Born in Iredell County on August 22, 1937, he was a son of the late Austin Joyce Richardson and Hazel Johnson Richardson. Mr. Richardson was a retired assistant principal having served 29 years with the Greensboro Public Schools and the Guilford County Public Schools. He dearly loved his grandchildren and was an avid sports and politics follower. He was also a former coach in Mooresville and Greensboro during his career. He was a member of New Union United Methodist Church in Mocksville.
Survivors include a son, John D. Richardson and his wife, Carol of High Point, a daughter, Laura Raybon and her husband, Chip of Japan and grandchildren: Benjamin Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Zachery Richardson, Anna Grace Raybon and Chloe Raybon.
Services celebrating Mr. Richardson's life will be conducted at 2:00 Thursday at New Union United Methodist Church with Dr. Steve Rainey officiating. He will lie in state at the church for thirty minutes prior to the service and burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Hamptonville. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 P.M. at the Ernest M. Troutman Memorial Chapel of the Reavis Funeral Home Of Harmony. Pallbearers will be: John Richardson, Chip Raybon, Benjamin Phillips, Jacob Phillips, Zachery Richardson and Michael Mathis.
