

She was born on October 21, 1938, in Iredell County to the late William Lee Barnard and the late Hannah Joyner Barnard. She graduated from Harmony High School and was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church and an active member of the Ladies Fellowship.
She is survived by Reuben Washington Johnson, Jr., her husband of 51 years; one son Michael Reuben Johnson of Harmony, and one daughter, Lisa Johnson Medford (Dempsey) of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; five grandchildren Emily Johnson, Jake Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Hannah Medford and Paige Medford.
Also surviving is one sister, Josephine B. Binkley Gregory, two sisters-in-law and a number of nieces and nephews.
Willie worked in the Accounting department at Blackwelder’s Furniture Company for over 25 years, Corner Hutch Furniture over 10 years and was a partner of S&P Freight Co.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 am at New Hope Baptist Church, Hamptonville with the Reverend Bobby Henderson officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
She will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Reavis Funeral Home of Harmony.
Active pallbearers will be Joe Orren, Jamey Phipps, William Baugus, Jonathon Baugus, Brent Galliher, and Ken Klamfoth.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 900 South Hawthorne Road, Winston Salem NC.
