Charles Grant Hanes Jr.

Charles G. Hanes Jr., 77, of Hummelstown, passed away Friday, January 21, 2011 at his home. He was born February 28, 1933 in Harrisburg; and was a graduate of John Harris High School, Class of 1952. Charles was retired President of Hankee – Hanes Agency; a past president of the Harrisburg Association of Insurance Agents; a member of the Pa. Insurance Association, NRA, Country Club of Harrisburg, and the Paxton Presbyterian Church. He was an avid golfer and hunter.

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Charlotte H. Hanes; daughter, Barbara Andersen, of Co; 3 sons, Charles G. Hanes lll, (Susan) and David Hanes, (Jill), both of Harrisburg, and Robert Hanes, (Dierdre), of Lewisberry; 2 sisters, Helen Bucher, (Bill), of Hummelstown and Nancy Ditty, (Gerald), of Harrisburg; brother, John Hanes, (Barbara), of Camp Hill; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 25, 2011 in the Neill Funeral Home, 3501 Derry St., Harrisburg. Burial will be in Shoop’s Garden of Rest Cemetery. A viewing will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday to time of service.
