On November 7, 2011, surrounded by her family, Dolores L. “Dussie” Hudak, entered into eternal life. She was born on August 1, 1921, in Wilkes Barre, PA, to Emma and Joseph Ustvon. She was 90 years old.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michel G. Hudak, and her 4 sisters.
Dussie became a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church when she moved with her husband Mike, from Wilkes Barre to Harrisburg in 1947. She quickly became an enthusiastic volunteer in her community and church. Prior to retirement, Dussie was employed by Dauphin Deposit Bank. For many years, she enjoyed her “card club” and was the last surviving member at the time of her death. She was a nurturing, compassionate and giving person who loved her God, family and friends, never hesitating to offer a helping hand.
She is survived by her three children, Susan P. Jones, Newport, PA, Alan J. Hudak, (Beth), of Hagerstown, MD, Cynthia M. Miller, (Timothy), of Hershey, PA; grandchildren, David A. Jones II, Damian M. Jones, Christin Hudak Kinman, Allyson Hudak Flynn, Kathryn Hudak McCarroll, Michael Hudak, Meghan Hudak Guerra, Rachel Miller Golinsky, Sarah Miller and Hannah Miller. In addition, she leaves behind 20 (soon to be 21) great- grandchildren. Grammy will be sadly missed by all, but her memory and love cherished and celebrated forever.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ecumenical Community and Country Meadows, West Shore, for the wonderful care given to our loved one. In addition, thanks and acknowledgement to the excellent Harrisburg Hospital 5th floor caregivers for their kindness as our loved one transitioned from this earthly life.
