He was born in Harrisburg on April 12, 1934 and he was the son of the late David Gingerich and Mattie (Hoffman) Gingerich.
He was a retired Lineman for PP&L and then worked for the Dauphin County Courthouse for over 23 years. He was a 1953 graduate of John Harris High School. He loved bowling, volleyball, golf, telling jokes and his dog, Bella.
Earl was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church and a former member of Chambers Hill United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Anne (Bucks) Gingerich; his daughters, Brenda (Gary) Marks and Karen Gingerich, sons, Jeffery (Lydia) Gingerich and Thomas (Vicki) Gingerich and step daughter, Jennifer (John) Zimmerman and grandchildren, Melissa, Jennifer, Michael, Maxwell, Scott, Keeley, Ryan, Nathan and step grandchildren, Abby & Ethan and five great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine (Chester) Straining and son, Gary Earl Gingerich.
The family would like to thank the Homeland Hospice Team for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.
The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, February 28, 2025 in Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg. Burial will be in Paxtang Cemetery. A visitation will be held at 10:00 AM Friday until the time of the service at the church.
