Born February 15, 1939, he was the son of the late Eldon and Alberta (Gamber) Ickes. In addition to his parents, Edward was preceded in death by his son, Jack A. Lucas Jr. of Elizabethtown and his sister, Margaret Cecere of Harrisburg.
Surviving Edward is his wife of over 60 years, Frances Jane (Mohn) Ickes and his daughter; Wendy Ickes Bower and her husband Clayton of West Hanover, his son; Randy L. Ickes and his wife Holly of Harrisburg, his sister; Connie Flauaus, of Dillsburg and 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
He was an avid Penn State Football fan and loved old western movies and hunting; but his family always brought him the most joy.
A funeral service will be held for Edward at 3pm Monday January 6, 2025, at Neill Funeral Home, 3051 Derry St. Harrisburg, PA 17111. A viewing will occur from 1pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
