Born May 31, 1961 in Harrisburg; she was the daughter of the late Thomas S. and Patricia A. (Barron) Flyzik. She is also preceded in death by her adoptive mother Betty A. (Perkins) Flyzik.
Surviving are her three children Brendon P. T. Gaylor, Justine C. Gabner (Caleb) and Kylie E. Gaylor (Johnny); stepdaughter, Katelynn M. Hanson; two sisters, Mary J. Famularo(William) and Kathleen M. Flyzik; brother, Patrick G. Akins and her many nieces and nephews; Erin, Ryan, Andrew, Mitchell, Morgan, Bethany, Daniel, and Collin, along with their spouses and children.
Lisa retired after 35 years of service with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Her last position was Chief of Staff for the Deputy Secretary at the Office Of Developmental Programs, Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. She was also a fierce advocate for individuals with Autism and their families, spending over 10 years of her career in the Bureau of Autism Services.
Lisa was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church and The Legion of Mary. Lisa was an avid equestrian and a successful breeder and showman of Morgan Horses. She loved cooking, baking and gardening. Above all things she was a loving and devoted mother to her children.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12:00 PM Monday, June 26, 2023 at St. Catherine Laboure Catholic Church, 4000 Derry St., Harrisburg. A Private burial will be held in Holy Cross Cemetery. A viewing will be from 11:00 AM Monday until the time of the service at the church.
